How we started

SAINTS OF LUST was formed in 2010 by bassist/ guitarist Greg Turner. A fan of the early 70's punk movement and the early dark glam rock of Motley Crue, Turner strived to write songs that were essentially a soundtrack to the groups live show.   Greg believes that evoking a response, whether good or bad, is just as important as the music. "Hell, I wanted to call the band Motherf*cker," laughs Greg. “Anything to get a reaction is cool. “Inspired by the disturbing imagery portrayed in such films as A Clockwork Orange, Fight Club, and a slew of Quentin Tarantino movies, Turner began recording songs that had the attitude and punch of metal and punk.  A veteran of the local Midwest music scene, he admits that finding the right mix of key players to allow his musical vision to come to life was almost impossible.  So he did the obvious and wrote and recorded the entire debut SAINTS effort himself.

The SAINTS first single "Midnight Christ" embodies all that the SAINTS are about. “I’ve always believed that attitude is everything, and the song reflects that, but with a bit of tongue in cheek. That makes the song adhere to anyone's personal view of what it might mean to them, whether good or bad." While some may scoff at the band's lack of perfection and rawness in the SAINTS' music, Turner quickly dismisses this with a smile. “I’m remixing a lot of the tunes to put 'em out on the net, plus trying to write for the next one.  The songs aren't perfect, but then I don't think rock & roll is meant to be pretty in the first place."
